We are currently testing our Primary Transmitter and HD Radio at 94.3 MHz under authority from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. This technical evaluation continues through June 17th.
What does that mean for you?
- Superior Audio Quality: Digital signals eliminate the static, hiss, and fading typical of analog radio. FM sound approaches CD quality.
- Enhanced Data Display: Receivers display song titles, artist names, album art, station logos, and traffic/weather updates in real-time.
- No Data Used: Because it is a broadcast signal and not streaming, it does not use smartphone data.
If you have any concerns or comments, please call 204-989-0866.
Thanks for listening to ALT 94.3!

HD Radio technology is the digital broadcast of 94.3 FM in Winnipeg.
Do all radios receive HD Radio?
No – in order to receive the digital signal, you must have an HD Radio receiver.
If your radio doesn’t support HD Radio, your regular FM tuner will work, or you can still bring the QX App with you in the car! Pair wirelessly with Bluetooth, plug in with an aux cable, or use an FM transmitter device. (Yes, you can even use an AUX to cassette tape adapter!)
